About the Conference

The fourth industrial revolution has caused rapid development in information technology and created a new environment for a sustainable digital economy. The development of digital capital plays a critical role in enhancing economic competitiveness for sustainable growth. Today, digital transformation is imperative for all businesses, from small to large enterprises. Digital transformation is the process of changing how an enterprise leverages technology, people, and processes to improve business performance and embrace new business models. Digital transformation is a culture and a strategic decision in the organization through which digital capabilities of data, infrastructure, technologies, and digital skills are harnessed to build smart and sustainable business models. This transformation is cultural in nature and affects all elements of the business including sales, marketing, operations, and customer service. Overall, digital transformation is the cultural, organizational, and operational change of an organization, industry, or ecosystem through the smart integration of digital technologies, processes, and competencies across all levels and functions. The digital economy is more sustainable as it requires fewer energy sources and contributes to the formation of a green economy. All economic sectors are influenced by the advancements of the digital economy, technology, and its related applications. Digital transformation needs to be supported and fostered in order to sustain and enhance competitiveness in the global economy. The Oman Vision 2040 focuses on digital transformation in the public and private sectors to ensure sustainable development of the national economy.
